AAC/Speech Generating Device Evaluation

For children who may benefit from a speech-generating device, we provide a comprehensive AAC evaluation to determine which communication tools best fit your child’s individual needs. This may include trialing different speech-generating devices and AAC apps, such as Proloquo2Go, as part of a multimodal communication approach.

Please note: An AAC/ speech-generating device evaluation is separate from your child’s initial speech and language evaluation. All children must first complete an initial speech and language evaluation.

If a speech-generating device is recommended, we will work with your child during weekly therapy sessions to trial an appropriate device for 30 days. Following the trial, a comprehensive evaluation and report will be completed by the SLP and submitted to your insurance company as part of the process for obtaining the device.

This additional evaluation and the associated fees apply only to children who are pursuing a speech-generating device.
